How adorable was this little tome! History and geography were never my favourite subjects at school. But when you get snippets of historical and geographical facts in a book, taught to you by the cutest little terrier with one floppy ear and one very perky one, how can you fail to be interested?

This is No. 4 of Mr Pish’s adventures. He’s travelling through southern and western USA, stopping off at various places to take a few snapshots, absorb some fascinating facts and being kind enough to send us postcards. No, not to say ‘Wish you were here’ but to tell us how he’s getting on, what he’s seen and what he’s learnt.

It’s a delightful way to find out about the main highlights of the towns and countryside. The text is clear, concise and entertaining, exudes enthusiasm and is accompanied by some superb photos and a little map so that you know exactly where the little chap is.

Designed mainly as an educational learning tool for young children, the Mr Pish Postcard series cannot fail to capture the hearts, not just of those youngsters, but also oldies such as myself.

Utterly enchanting.

I really enjoyed Mr. Pish adventure through the South and West. I am from Alabama and I really enjoyed the history given about the Vulcan statue in Birmingham. I enjoy the feel of these books because it encourages kids to imagine they are on the trip with Mr. Pish. The pictures are a fun and personal touch.

Postcards from Mr. Pish: South and West Edition is a great way to introduce kids to the varied and wonderful sites in the southern and western areas of our country. On his travels from state to state, Mr. Pish gives interesting tidbits about both the civilized and the natural world, combining history, geology, geography and pop culture in a fun commentary that kids will enjoy. Mr. Pish's excitement and joy of adventure is contagious, "infecting" children with his questions and encouraging them to go on their own journeys of discovery and share what they learn. The maps that record each leg of the journey are helpful in that kids can zero in on areas of interest and pursue their own investigations. As in all Mr. Pish books, his thoughts and emotions mirror those of kids and his journey becomes their journey. He's a terrific ambassador for our very own country, and makes learning fun.

Sweet Mr. Pish! The Postcards from Mr. Pish series is a fabulous way to teach children about the world around them, and at the same time promote literacy. Travel with the intrepid little pooch as he introduces the reader to the southern and western United States in this installment, all done through postcards from Mr. Pish. The author's photographs lend a fun visual to the tale (tail?) and whets the readers' appetite for travel.

As soon as I opened this Mr Pish book a few weeks ago I fell in love with this enigmatic little darling. Who couldn't like that cute face? Postcards from Mr Pish: South and West Edition is an exceptionally professional and educational book that takes you on a journey through the southern and western parts of the USA. Pages are set up as a series of postcards sent from Mr Pish, the adorable Jack Russell Terrier, and framed with fabulous photographs.
A delightful entertaining read for young and old.
There is nothing `childish' about this book which I found both informative and fascinating. I would not hesitate to recommend it for any child to help teach them about the geography and history of the USA and also for adults. It is a beautiful book to own and look at. The style is perfect and would appeal to any youngster. K.S.Brooks succeeds in making learning fun. In brief, it is a superb book that I would happily gift to friends and young family.
