About R Lawson Gamble

As a child R Lawson developed a love of travel and an appreciation for the outdoors. He inherited his curiosity for and a love of the Old West from his grandfather, who was raised next to the Oregon Trail in Kansas and would speak of wagon trains rumbling by his home, and from his grandmother who grew up in a sod house near Indian Country and described hiding on a nearby hill when bands of Indians approached. His own father grew up in Coffeyville, Kansas, where the Dalton gang failed famously in their attempt to rob two banks at the same time.
R Lawson continued to quench his ongoing thirst for adventure whenever possible. He has climbed 5000 and 6000 meter peaks in five countries. A marathoner, he qualified for and ran the Boston Marathon. He has paddled the Dead River in Maine at flood, sky dived, and kayaked much of the New England Coast from Connecticut to Maine.
R Lawson's sense of adventure, along with his curiosity, love of history, and his "desire to see what most people never see" is evident in the pages of his books. He transports the reader to places that truly exist, places where he has been, and landscapes that readers may find and experience for themselves. He now lives on the Central Coast of California and continues his adventures as his writing allows.

A tantalizing and creepy mystery set in the American Southwest, an area which the author brings deliciously to life. We get to travel with FBI Agent Zack as he desperately tracks down a murderous, alien Force before it's too late, with the aid of Eagle Feather, a native American hunting guide. Heart-stopping twists and turns abound. Zack's determination and unorthodox thinking pull in a wonderful cast of characters. I couldn't stop reading till I'd discovered who'd done it, which, of course, wasn't till I'd turned the last page. And even then... I hope for a sequel. I've become too attached to the characters to say goodbye just yet!

I finished THE OTHER in record time. It's fascinating, well written, and the mystery holds your interest throughout. I thought the FBI agent Zack Tolliver was a determined, capable man with a problem to solve who was also sympathetic and intelligent. I particularly enjoyed his willingness to think outside the box. I'm very much looking forward to R. Lawson Gamble's next book MESTACLOCAN

I loved the preview of The Other and have bought the book. I'm enjoying it to the point of keeping myself up too late so that I can keep on reading. The rich detail does not interfere with the book's pace and the mystery grabs your interest on several levels. I highly recommend this book by this new author
