Short description

Happy families are all alike; every unhappy family hides a secret. For the Bath sisters, their unhappiness begins when their mother disappears one day, leaving behind little more than an empty chest and rumours. Only Jadis, the oldest sister, knows the truth about their mother. She and Emeraulde, the second sister, are celebrated beauties in their small town; each is marked by a small deformity that offers a clue to their mother’s disappearance. Hana, the youngest of them, is as plain as her sisters are beautiful, and does everything she can to care for her father in her mother’s absence. She goes so far as taking his place when an angry king sends him home in a fever and demands a replacement. The king remarries Hana’s vain middle sister, and over time, both his children go missing; many suspect their aunt is to blame. One person who doesn’t forget the missing children over the passing years is Isaac Chevalier.
He and Neve, the missing snow princess, were promised to one another when she was no more than a baby, and when she disappears, he is haunted by her.
Coming across Neve in a wood one day, Isaac is amazed to find her alive and in the care of 7 small men. He assumes she will be happy to leave with him and resume the life she left behind. Instead, she gives him a challenge. Find and return her missing brother, the little prince, and win her affections. Or fail, and forget about her. To complicate matters, her small guardians insist that Isaac must also kill her wicked aunt if he ever wishes to take Neve back to the castle she once called home.
Isaac sets out to deliver the impossible. He embarks on a journey that begins with a blue fairy and leads north to the ice palace, where he will have to cross thwo bitter queens and make peace with a polar bear. Once there, he will learn that Neve has died, and discover that the only way back to her is by playing a dangerous game with the Ice Queen. If he plays well, he can redeem Neve’s soul and return her to the living. If he loses, so will everyone else. Neve will be forever memorialized in a glass coffin, the little prince trapped on a lonely star with a solitary rose for company. And Envy, the Emerald Queen, will grow in power with no one to stop her, her subjects miserable under the tyranny of a sociopath. Will Isaac be able to save Neve a final time from her sleeping death?

Entertining. Vivid imagination of author. A mix of traditional fairytails with a twist.
