I have so much to be thankful for but I would not at this place in my life today if not for some pretty remarkable influences that charted my path. The first is my sister Anna, who started the whole fairytale business in the first place. The stories she would read me were a ride that I never got off of. Alice in wonderland is still my favorite escape of all time. Then there is Anne Rice, and my first vampire love Lestat. Growing up and living in New Orleans, what can I say, it is the perfect place to hone the paranormal fantasy mind and this legendary woman and her Vampire Chronicles fueled my imagination.
I began to write but was to self conscious to share my stories so I wrote for me. Time passed, works were put away and life went on, until Hurricane Katrina. The curse to so many was a blessing in disguise for me, though at the time I didn’t think so. She blew into town, destroyed my business and my farm, then moved me north, from Alabama to the Georgia mountains.
That decision changed my life. A box in the top of a closet, an unfinished manuscript, and a whisper in my ear. Finish what you started. That story, started in my twenties, is what you are reading today.
Thank you to my hubby Jeff who is the poster child for unselfishness and encouragement. I love you. To my family and friends who also encouraged me to take up the sword and do what I love. Write, and a special thanks to the girls who help me take care of business; Lisa, Kathie, Theresa, Sue, Gini, and Katie, but most of all I want to thank the readers for turning the pages, falling in love and wanting more. To you I am forever grateful.
Finish what I started? I’ve only just begun.
FRACTURE The Secret Enemy Saga is available in paperback at Barnes and Nobles and Amazon.com, and as an e-book through Amazon and Smashwords.

Virginia McKevitt is now in my Favorite Author list, and there aren't many there since I'm not one for being a fan of any human being... animals maybe, but never a human LOL!
In this book Virginia continues the adventure of Kritsina, Tegrin, Sissy and Jimmy, of course with Bo with them all along... I wouldn't love this book as much without that dog!!
I got to travel in my mind again, find powers unknown and even learned how to best hide a corpse.
The author has used such wonderful descriptions and imagery that I could see Tegrin's eyes as they changed color and Kristinas red curls blowing in the wind. I had the wonderful chance to see Jimmy's toys and Sissy's costume. I visited New Orleans for Mardi Gras and partied in the streets. That is how wonderful the imagery was. The rituals created in this saga, the worlds, the strengths, weaknesses and special powers of each character, the way she has portrayed the Couton, specially Alexasia, her appearance, her clothing and her attitude towards the world are so clear you can easily understand her and the reactions of others towards her.
Ms. McKevitt's writing style is clear, compelling and descriptive, with wonderful imagery and the most amazing creative imagination.

*I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review*

This is the second instalment in the Secret Enemy Saga.

The Couton- a dangerous race of women who drain people of their memories are back and invading the city of New Orleans. It is up to Tegrin and Kristina to put a stop to them and their killing spree.

Tegrin and Kristina are joined on their mission by their friends, Sissy and Jimmy. I liked these two supporting characters in this book and how they added another dimension to the story.

I felt the action was kicked up a notch in this instalment and the content was a little grittier than the first book. This was to be expected as the number of murders increased as did their descriptions. This was not a bad thing as I enjoyed the authors writing.

Being the romance fangirl that I am, I did enjoy the progression of the relationship between Tegrin and Kristina. No matter the circumstance or danger they faced, I was a sucker for the romance weaved through this book of action and suspense.

I enjoyed this story perhaps more than I expected to. I fully immersed myself in the journey and was rooting for Tegrin and Kristina to triumph. I am hooked on these characters and must read any future quests they will have.

The Hunted Fracture The Secret Enemy is an interesting story. It intertwines the real world with the paranormal in a way that is very believable. The story takes you on a hunt to rid the real world of the Couton, who have come from another world to devour this one. There are lots of elements to this adventure – romance, the complexities of combining two very different worlds and having to kill to save what you believe in. It kept my interest from the beginning and all the way through. It is part two of a series (Fracture) but can be read on its own. Well worth reading. A good paranormal romance, suspense, adventure. Congratulations and great job Virginia.

Review by: Rachel Ledbetter on Dec. 04, 2012 :
I have been looking forward to The Hunted, the second book of the Secret Enemy Saga, since I read the first one over the summer. The Hunted is a very intriguing story about a quest to stop the Couton from taking over the city. I really love the characters and how they overcome obstacles on their journey to protect our world. This book is a very quick read and it was hard to put down. I love to read stories of murder, mystery, and suspense as well as romance, and this book combines all of that into one amazing book. Keep up the good work Virginia McKevitt. I can't wait to see what happens next with the story.
