A fourteen year old boy.

The Aeden Alliance served the galaxy for generations. A private military composed of a wide variety of races and species, the Alliance extended their offer of security and protection to any individual, nation, or world in need. But when a startling intelligence report uncovered evidence of a frightening new weapon, the Aeden Alliance had no choice but to intervene in order to keep such dangerous technology from falling into the wrong hands.

And now the universe's greatest danger is a fourteen year old boy.

Arus continues his plight of redemption and honor, tossed out into the stars from a society that doesn't believe or trust in machines. This series is probably one of the best series I've read in the past 3 years. Incredibly well-written. Written in Manga style, I felt right at home with all of the characters. (I love manga. =)) The themes of honor, duty, loyalty and respect run deep as in most Manga themes, but the characters are far from cardboard manga repeats. In this book, the theme of redemption is paramount as the war escalates between the three factions.

Don't read this book until you've read book 1 in the series. The two go closely together, and should really be one very long novel. But as it stands, book 2 is incredibly intense.

If you enjoy Star Wars or Lord of the Rings (and you have even a passing knowledge of manga themes), then you must own these three books. Seriously. They're that good.

Full disclosure: No, Mr. Domenic did not solicit this review in any way. I'm posting this because I would love to see talent like this make it in this publishing world.
