Extended description

Lifetimes ago, the white moon exploded and showered the planet with dusty residue. The world, Werjen, would never be the same. Flora and fauna on the surface suffered strange mutations. In this disaster-stricken place, two allied flocks of mortals struggled to forge an existence. The Lowlanders, as they were collectively called, are just emerging from a thirty year war. They are victorious, but their forces have been severely depleted. In an effort to shirk their sorrows and celebrate peace, they gather together in a remote valley. Just as their catharsis reaches its climax, their leader is assassinated. Against the wishes of their god, Herder Hrul, they are drawn into yet another conflict. As the new crisis escalates, lives are changed and souls are lost.

I simply could not put this book down. From the very beginning, I was hooked. The conspiracy from unknown dark forces and egotistical malevolent actors immediately following a dramatic battle scene instantly draws one into the imaginary world of Werjen. The players in the following scenes are colorfully drawn with great detail. A bond is soon developed as our band of primary players get swooped up into their honor-bound quests of justice and ultimately, of survival. A series of adventures follows, some dream-like, some harrowing, and a number of mysterious side-players are introduced.

The pending installments to this series are going to be so good! I can't wait!
