Short description

Artemis One and her four man crew have returned to Pythos after a lengthy space mission. The men are stunned when they witness an apocalyptic space battle above their home world. Once the combatants leave, the crew apprehensively contacts ground control. The events following the Gamin occupation, and subsequent battle, have far reaching consequences, changing Pythos and its people forever.

Extended description

This is the second short story belonging to the Terran Chronicles Universe and follows the intrepid crew of Artemis One. The four men return home, to Pythos, ending a three year space mission. They enter orbit in time to witness an apocalyptic battle. Hundreds upon hundreds of small craft swoop at a fleet of massive ships. Flying through the midst of the battle, the crew is helpless to do anything more than watch and wait. With mounting fear, all they can do is hope their own fragile spacecraft is not damaged, or worse. Suddenly the combatants depart, leaving behind vast amounts of debris. With trepidation, the crew contacts ground control, and are relieved at the response, initially anyway.

Another intriguing story! We get to draw some interesting parallels between what is happening to our world in the series and what has happened to other worlds encountered by the Gamin and their enemies.
Keeps adding questions for the main series. I rated this book 4 stars to avoid the negative comments received from giving First Contact 5 stars, even though that is what I would like to do. I thoroughly enjoyed the read, and as a non-professional reviewer can only give my personal opinion, I LOVE THIS SERIES!!
