'Heaven fallen, Heaven spent,
Who's to say where the Old Gods went?'

Barrin doesn't know what a God is, or Heaven. All he knows is the game the village children play to the timeless nursery rhyme. When the game chases him out into the dangerous wilderness beyond the gresha-fence, he disturbs an ancient cairn. Within, he finds a strange, glittering stone that awakens all kinds of ancient memories.

About R. J. Davnall

R. J. Davnall has been telling stories all his life, and thus probably shouldn’t be trusted to write his own bio. He lives what his mother insists on calling a 'bohemian lifestyle', working part-time for universities while approaching a PhD in philosophy. When not writing, he can usually be found playing piano or World of Warcraft.

This story along with other stories that I have read of R.J. Davnall's is very good yet way to short. I wish that I would have known just how short it was before purchasing it. Saying that I want to add that I absolutely LOVE his "The Second Realm" stories and cannot wait for more.
