Fathead Poetry Flat As Lead
This is a clever enough picture book and the story is neat. But perhaps it would have been even better had it been in prose. The author struggles here and then to make the line of poetry fit and have meaning since the line must be in rhythm and must rhyme at the end of each line. Free verse probably would have worked as well as prose. Still, the story is good. It's funny and a little odd. The subject about being different is important to children. It's good for them to see Fathead, who is not accepted be accepted because he is different.
