Short description

Gwennie is a widow. Short, plump, grey-haired and a pensioner, she’s about to embark on her first visit to the indoor swimming pool for exercise and therapy. Nervous and self-conscious, Gwennie procrastinates, making observations about other people at the pool and fidgeting with her belongings before finally getting in the water.

Extended description

Gwennie is a widow. Short, plump, grey-haired and a pensioner, she’s about to embark on her first visit to the indoor swimming pool for exercise and therapy. Nervous and self-conscious, Gwennie procrastinates, making observations about other people at the pool and fidgeting with her belongings before finally getting in the water. The water is blissfully welcoming and while she walks up and down the length of the pool she reminisces about her dearly departed husband called Max, his penny-pinching ways and how shocked he would be at all the money she's spent since he died.
