Short description

After the loss of his dearly-loved wife of six years to an ailment the doc said was ‘consumption’, James Stanton is torn between the memory of her and the guilt-ridden turmoil inside him that threatens to prevent him from committing to another woman.

Extended description

After being waylaid, robbed and beaten by Coyote Bill Patterson and his band of thugs, Stanton struggles to survive his injuries and the hardships of the Uncompahgre Plateau while he does his best to make it back to his outfit, The Swinging S.

Badly injured and sick with fever, he is unable to go any farther. Barely clinging to life, he is found and nursed back to health by the widow, Stacey Cox.

It is shortly after that that Stanton’s world begins to turn upside-down once he begins to realize that he is experiencing feelings for her, feelings that are in direct conflict with the memory of his beloved Ella.

Unwilling to readily give in to the emotions that threaten to forever erase Ella’s memory, he becomes embroiled in exacting justice on Coyote Bill and his henchmen for not only the way he’d been beaten and left for dead, but the murder of Stacey’s husband, as well.

STANTON shows us what real men are made of ... grit, determination, being one with the land, and a christian sense of right and wrong. I was drawn into the losses and loves, the battles against prejudice and pure evil, wondering if good would prevail. Again, this author shows he is an exceptional story teller.

This is what real men are made of ... grit, determination, a passion for life and the good values, and sense, that mean the difference between life and death; between living with loss or taking the risk to love again.
