I am not normally taken with this particular genre, but Linda's work entranced me. The environmental messaging is strong without being overwhelmingly so. A lovely work.

Review by: Dani J Caile on Jan. 22, 2013 :
An excellent collection of fantasy short stories which stress the environment and the consequences of our misuse of Earth. The style moves towards a poetic, classic and lyrical 3rd person POV, slipping occasionally into 1st person POV using present tense to bring the reader closer to the main characters. Although there are some clunky and briefly described moments, this does not take away the effect of the stories, reminiscent of Blood Music, Brave New World and other classics such as Gulliver’s Travels. ’Water Watchers’ is my favourite, while I feel ’Gift of Green Fire’ could easily be expanded and turned into a successful 3 book trilogy.
