The Misfits of Monrovia

A UN volunteer is kidnapped by a band of child soldiers in Liberia during the 1997 presidential election. Responsibility for the discovery of his whereabouts falls on a small organization of hapless Irish aid workers, eccentric missionaries and well-meaning but ineffectual locals, leading to outlandish results.

About Paul Reidy

Paul Reidy was born in Dublin, Ireland. He currently works as a teacher of English literature and classical studies at St Andrew's College. He previously worked for an aid organisation from 1996 to 1999 in various parts of Africa. He is married with three children and lives in Co. Wicklow. A novel: 'The Misfits of Monrovia' (2012), and a collection of poems and short stories: 'Memories of Dust' (2013), are his two published works to date.
