Review by: David Blake on June 08, 2013 :
A clever story with a nice twist, and generally well written. A couple of things seemed a little jarring, for instance Devin is suddenly cocking a gun that I didn't even know she had.
Also, why was Devin seemingly unconcerned about a third party discovering what was in the attic? The narrative suggests she doesn't know who the intruder was until she went up there and had a look.
These are relatively minor quibbles, though. Overall it was a very good read for such a short piece.

Thanks for turning me on to flash fiction. I've now read all of your stories (at least those on Smashwords as of May 2013) and enjoyed them all! Who knew you could travel so far in the mind with so few words.

Another outstanding short by Chuck... he always sets up what appears to be an open-and-shut situation, and inserts a masterful twist at the end...

I've become accustomed to the twists, and look forward to each of them...
