Every country and group of people have someone they make fun of. You can be in a bar anywhere in the world and, before long, you will hear a joke that starts something like this "Two dumb so-and-so's walk into a bar ..."

In Canada, that place is called Newfoundland. To the rest of the country it is called "The Rock". For many years, it was the epitome of what it was like to live a rural existence where the Poverty line was a place above you.
