When I mentioned above that this appealed to my twisted sense of everything, I meant it. A disturbed young man well and truly under his mother’s thumb. An event that changed everything. And though where it ended is my least favourite part of this short, it left me smiling.
Well written, fast enough moving but not too fast, and horror as I like it best. Partly in the mind, partly in reality and blurring the lines so you’re not quite sure which is which.
I’m not sure what else I can say about it other than go get it whilst it’s still free. Get it, read it, and then reread it. Well worth downloading.

I've never really been into short stories. Usually there isn't enough there to satisfy me. Thankfully this short story was different. I don't know what it says about me, or even the author, haha, but I loved it. I like how I even had a chance to be surprised at the end of the first tale. I had no idea Gerald was keeping the women he took in his basement, or that his disgusting mother had never really left him in the first place. I think this would make a good movie, if you add a bit more in the middle. The second tale was frightening and direct. I'm surprised that someone can convey so much into so little. Overall it was a twisted short read, and I will definitely be reading more short stories in the future.

I enjoyed Dance of the Gypsy a lot more than Mother Knows Best. For me, Mother Knows Best was written more like a Psycho rip-off than anything else. Still good, but not very creative. Dance of the Gypsy, although shorter, held my attention and kept me guessing until the very end.

2 short and creepy stories. The first one was better than the second, but I did enjoy them both.
