I was born on the cusp of the Great Depression. As a child I lived a nomadic life as my stepfather got jobs wherever he could find them throughout California, Washington and Oregon. As a result, I attended at least 20 different elementary schools. Finally, we settled in Eugene, Oregon where I graduated from University High School. From there, I went to the University of Portland, graduating in 1952 with a BA in music education and theater arts.
Subsequently, I was drafted into the Army and was sent to Korea and, later on, Japan. In Japan, I met the love of my life, my soul-mate, my wonderful wife-Kinuko. We were together for 42 years before she died.
During our life together, I was an aspiring actor, a salesman and a social worker, finally settling on the latter occupation. I retired from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services in 1991. After that, we moved to northern Nevad, where "Journeys of Hope and Love" begins.
