Short description
Psychiatrist Owen Hanks’s new patient, Conrad Davis, is a superhuman ex-police officer - formerly depicted by the press as a veritable superhero. Then something changed, and - without explanation - he began to take lives rather than saving them. Owen feels safe because his patient’s powers are being suppressed. But he’s about to learn that - even now - Davis might not be as harmless as he seems.
Dr. Owen Hanks is a well-respected psychiatrist, who has fallen into an unusual niche: he works with accused criminals who have abilities beyond those possessed by ordinary humans. His newest assigned case, Conrad Davis, is a superhuman ex-police officer - formerly depicted by the press as a veritable superhero. Then something changed inside him, and one day - without explanation - he began taking lives rather than saving them. Owen is confident that he has no reason to fear for his own safety. His new patient might be one of the most dangerous men who's ever lived, but his powers have been completely suppressed. What Owen is about to learn, however, is that - even now - Davis might not be as harmless as he seems…

You know, it's a shame that Twilight Zone isn't still around. There's the classic ending in the story that is arrived at in a gradual but cumulative progression. Only two personalities are included in the story, as is mostly the case in the other two I've read by this author, but it's sufficient. It leaves you curious as to where the seed of each story sprang from, as each sprouts to a fascinating but bizarre blossom.
