Short description
Matt and Lara suffered losses that sent them away. They needed to find themselves. They needed Restoration. Then, they had to stop the man who was trying to kill them.
Matthew Clark lost his wife and two children in a horrific automobile accident. For years, he grieved, unable to come to terms with his loss. He let himself go. He let his business go. He let everything go. It was finally time to end it all.
Lara Holmes, a civil attorney with a large Milwaukee law firm, was suing billionaire Julius Casper for forty-million dollars for the unlawful death of his wife on behalf of the murdered wife’s sister. One day, while jogging through a local park, she was attacked and almost killed. And she would have died, if not for Matt, who had parked himself on a bench nearby, his old and trusty handgun in his lap. He briefly surfaced from his paralyzed pre-suicide detachment when he heard her screams for help and came to her rescue.

Lara, deeply shaken by the attack, continued to work on her client’s behalf, but soon after, in a hit and run accident, her client was killed…and so was the lawsuit. On the heels of the attack in the park, Lara was devastated, took a sabbatical from the law firm and fled down to Florida to recover with her parents.
The tables had been turned on Matt regarding the events at the park and he was sentenced to prison on gun charges. Instead of a heroic defender, he had been turned into a common criminal.
Both Matt and Lara needed to reenergize, to revitalize, to virtually begin new lives. They needed restoration. Then they returned to Milwaukee, Matt from prison, Lara from a prison of her own. Everything would have been fine, except that Lara had a new client but the same old case; the same case that nearly ended both her and Matt’s lives. Julius Casper didn’t take kindly to people trying to sue him for millions and this time it was no different. What was different now was that Lara and Matt met, again. Now, they were in it together.
Running and hiding from place to place, all across the greater Milwaukee metropolitan area, Lara and Matt barely escape with their lives time after time as Casper and his men are relentless in their efforts to eliminate them. Finally, Casper manages to get a hold of Lara, but Matt has something he wants, something he is willing to trade her for, something he values even more than revenge against a woman who has tormented him.
The ride is fast and furious as cat and mouse turns into punch and counterpunch. The suspense is nonstop. The romance is steamy. The action waits for no one.
