I enjoyed this book. It's a real page turner. Kept me up all night reading. The characters are complex and believeable. The reader is drawn into a torrent of twists and turns that span two generations. Roger Penfound's writing is fluid and evokative. I really like the chapters where the main character is dating US servicemen based in the UK during the war. It brings out the brutality and sadness of these conflicts. I would highly recommend this book.
