To Go To Sleep In The Dark
Murder in a small lake town in Indiana is not what summer is supposed to bring. But over two decades earlier, that is exactly what summer brought, though most of what happened that summer remained hidden, until now. More
Natalie's older sister, Carrie, disappeared when Natalie was just a baby, and was never seen again. Their parents never recovered from that loss and Natalie grew up in her aunt's home, instead of with her parents, while they continued their search for Carrie, a search that ended with their own deaths in a plane crash. As soon as she graduated high school, Natalie left her home in a small lake town in Indiana, ran to Denver, and never looked back. Or didn't until the day her aunt called to tell her that Carrie had finally been found.
Carrie died before Natalie was old enough to know her sister, but it is Natalie who will grow to know Carrie better than almost anyone else, when she returns home to bury her sister, and to find out who killed her more than two decades earlier.
A nurse, a daughter, a sister...there were many facets to Carrie's life, any one of which might explain why someone wanted her dead. Professional jealousy, adultery, drugs...the possible motives surround Natalie at every turn, but the one thing she knows for certain is that her sister did not deserve to be murdered, should have lived so that two sisters, separated by decades in age, might have had the chance to know one another. That opportunity has been denied them, and Natalie may be the only person capable of making the killer pay.
