CLARA’S WISH by SM Senden

What secrets will be unearthed with the discovery of a diamond ring found in the hand of a corpse? Only one person knows the truth. Bergin Halverson knows the time has come for the truth to finally come out. He remembers that time in 1923 when Clara makes a wish which was to come true but not as Clara hoped.

Clara is a lonely young girl, in spite of having a loving family. She sees her friends and her sister meeting boys and some getting wed. Why couldn’t she do the same? Why did nobody ask her out? Was her life to be one of a maiden aunt?

In spite of being pretty she still had no man in her life. The trouble was Clara was painfully shy and found it difficult to make friends with the opposite sex. Then one day she meets Bergin’s brother Erdman. It would seem her wish had come true but from that day her life was doomed.

When Clara goes missing her father has a dream and is determined to find out if it is true. A search is mounted and true to his dream, Clara is found in a shallow grave. What was the truth though of what really happened? Only Bergin found out and now it was time after all these years to tell the sheriff.

This is a tale of loneliness, happiness, fear, sorrow and so much more. Travel back in time as Bergin finally tells his story. Feel Clara’s joy, then her pain as Erdman plays with her emotions.

A very good read and deserves five stars
