A page-turning novella with a lot of suspense. The prose is plain and direct, as you're likely to find in this genre, but the plot carries it well.

The competing nature of the Alpha males in the story is done very well and added an interesting dynamic (you'll see what I mean).

There was one key part that I found a bit contrived, but it may just be me nitpicking.

This is my first read by this author and based on this, I will probably buy more.

On a scale of 1 to 10 I'd give it an 8.5.

I enjoy JA Konrath’s work. This was another great Jack Daniels story. I am only sorry that is was so short. Looking forward to reading “Shaken” and Shot of Tequila.

WOW! This is the book that made me a JA Konrath fan! Mr. Konrath, what a mind you must have, sir! I have now also read (and loved) Disturb, Suckers, Shot of Tequila, and am currently reading Floaters.
