What a great book! "Lydia's Awakening" speaks to women's hearts--we all accumulate unnecessary baggage on our journey through life, both seen and unseen, but, for most of us, it is so very hard to release! In her novel, Susan DeBow camouflages some pretty heavy truths with a lighthearted dose of laughter and wit. She creates a very likeable group of characters whose lives and personalitites are very well developed. DeBow's writing is effortless and a joy to read. Readers will fall in love with Lydia, and cheer for her throughout this satisfying read. I, too, anxiously await the sequel! Leslie Moore, Editor, Sasee Magazine

I love, love, love "Lydia's Awakening"! As the youngest of three children, I can identify with the politics and secrets that go on in a family. However, as a middle-aged mother, myself, I could even better identify with Lydia as she juggles the personalities of her children and the literal baggage in her house. Susan DeBow has a wry way of looking at life that takes us gingerly through the painful moments yet with a twinkle in her literary eye as if to say "all is not lost: you can do this." When I finished the book, I really missed the characters. So now that Lydia's awake, will there be a sequel?
