Tup told me this when he got back from Oz.
Henry Gumble, who's a pint short of a quart, inherited a bungalow and a piece of desert on the edge of some more of it in the outback. He decided to make a garden. But just as his- er- let's give her the benefit of the doubt, mate- lovely wife, Martha, predicted, he failed miserably. Then he uncovered a cache of fertiliser left behind by aliens
A young traveller in Australia encounters a man in a pub who, for the price of several pints, proceeds to relate a weird story about Henry Gumble. Henry failed in his ambition to create a garden in the patch of desert surrounding his outback home until he uncovers a large cache of fertiliser left behind by aliens centuries ago.
The alien who pops up on a sdreen to give Henry his instructions is - well, pretty alien.
Much to the amazement of the locals and Henry's crabby wife, Martha, the garden begins producing the most amazing fruit and veg - enough to feed the whole community, in fact.
