The Artists' Psychiatric Factory is the first novel published by author Howard Kreps. Over a long writing career, he has written short stories, film scripts, plays, poems, and a memoir. To financially support his love of the written word, Howard worked as an accountant, flower salesman, film production assistant, sailboat charter captain, credit bureau manager, NGO environmental campaigner, and health insurance agent. His varied background offered insights into life which few people have experienced. Recognizing the extreme challenge of the creative process and, like many observers, fascinated by the interesting and eccentric lives of many of those who create artistically, Howard Kreps was inspired to write the unique and entertaining story of a handful of artists living in New York City in the 1990s.
