As Martin counsels his diverse and talented patients, he hopes to keep them directed toward their artistic pursuits as well as help them come to grips with the psychiatric issues that hinder their lives.

Dr. Gold faces intense financial difficulties but he forges on, driven by his ultimate goal to be a patron of the arts. Other arts-related endeavors emerge, and he opens the Artists’ Casting Factory and a gallery. Along the way readers will empathize with characters portrayed in fascinating therapy sessions and captivating out-of-the-office experiences.
