In a near future dystopian Britain a drifter called Rob is chasing a dream - that the London Underground trains still run.

This 3000 word short story comes with the first chapter of the novel, The Tube Riders, which was set in a world based on this story, as a free sample.

Chris Ward is the author of dystopian science fiction trilogy The Tube Riders, as well as the supernatural thriller The Man Who Built the World. A native of Cornwall, England, he now lives in the Japanese Alps with his wife and cat.
