Several years ago a co-worker asked me what the word grace meant. In a rather glib fashion I said, "The unmerited favor of God, of course!" Her response wasn't what I expected, "Is that the best you can do?" At the time I thought it was a brilliant answer; or at the very least, theologically correct.
Now? Not so much.
If all God had wanted from mankind was a robotic species without views, or thought, or questions, or curiosity, or even a difference of opinion, He could have settled for rocks: " “I tell you that if these did not speak, the very stones would call out.” But He didn't. Instead He chose to make mankind in Their image - like Them: thinking, dreaming, debating, discussing, falling in love, living in expectancy and wonder, and asking more questions than is even remotely possible to record.

And if the death, burial, resurrection, and enthronement of Jesus is a finished work, then what does that look like for you and I in real life, in real time? What does it mean to be prophetic, to struggle with addiction, depression and fear? If we've really been made new in Christ Jesus, why do we still struggle with some of the same issues we struggled with before we knew Him?
By looking at scripture, culture, and the promises of God, I hope to provoke the reader into taking a second look at what they currently believe to be true about the Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit, themselves, and the world around them, then ask the question; does anything need to change? If the answer is 'no', then I hope they enjoyed what I had to share and pass it on to their friends. But if on the other hand the answer is 'yes', then I hope they realize they are not alone, and that it's okay to ask for a different set of lenses to see through, in order to begin exploring all the possibilities.
