Very nice short novella that gave some insight in the lives of both Aidan and Emma. Was nice to read what happened just before they met and before they got into a Proposition. Defo want me to get reading The Proposition and The Proposal again.

This is a short novelette that precedes what happens in The Proposition and The Proposal. It starts off, though, with a short picture of what is currently happening (after the Proposal ends). It then jumps into roughly 3 months before the Proposition starts and alternatives between Aidan and Emma's viewpoints. This is a wonderful, short read for fans of the series because it gives a little insight and background into what our favorite characters were doing before we first see them. If you haven't read the series, it also gives you an insight into what to look forward to in the series. This short piece of writing, evokes a lot of emotion and already draws you in and makes you care for Aidan "The Manwhore" Fitzgerald and sweet, innocent Emma Harrison. I highly recommend you read this!

Please understand that The Party is a FREE novella that author Katie Ashley has offered to her fans. If you have already read The Proposition and The Proposal , The Party really brought this series full circle for me and made me understand their personalities so much more.
In this novella we learn more about Emma and Aidan's lives before their first encounter at the work Christmas party. My heart ached for Emma while listening to her desperate plea to Connor for him to be the sperm donor so should could have a baby. And although Aidan was always referred to as a manwhore, we really get to experience what a jerk he truly was/is.
If you haven't read The Proposition and the sequel, The Proposal, I still advise you to read those first and come back The Party. I think you will appreciate The Party so much more if you read them in the order in which they were written. We'll get to see more of Aidan and Emma this summer with The Pairing: A Companion Novel to The Proposition and The Proposal.

Oh Aidan you were a man-whore! It's a good thing Emma came into your life and won your heart with all the love it holds. You two were meant to be together, and I know you were just waiting for her to walk into your life!
