About Emily Hawk

I live in the great state of Texas! I wasn't born here but I got here as quick as I could. :)
I am a mother and step mother of six wonderful kids, all of which are nearly grown. My husband is my best friend and the love of my life, without him I wouldn't have had the courage to write my book, The Love of a Mother - A Daughter's Story. It was a very emotional book to write for me. It brought up a lot of raw feelings to the surface regarding my upbringing and the abuse I endured at the hands of my mother. I learned how to overcome and break the cycle and go on to live a productive life full of love.

Great book. Once you start reading it's hard to put it down. You can feel the author's emotions through every passing chapter. It's a must read for any parent or child in a dysfunctional family. Shows that horrible cycles can be broken and there is hope. 5 STARS to the author! Thanks for sharing your story :)

As I was reading this book I could feel what the author was going through. I began to flashback to the darkness of my own childhood and I knew I was not alone. This book truly engages the reader from the beginning to the end. The author and I have come to the same conclusion about life, it is what it is and sometimes all we can control is how we react to it. I highly recommend it !

After reading the first chapter of this book, I couldn't stop reading. It's impossible to know how a mother could have the ability to abuse and neglect her own child. The theme of this book is ultimately a positive one. However short, The Love of a Mother will make an impact on any reader, especially if you have gone through a similar upbringing. In the end, the unhealthy pattern is broken, and readers will definitely learn from it.

My hope is that this author will continue to write, I am eager to see what else she may have in store for us.

Thank you for sharing your story with the world - Kudos to you!
