Over descriptive narration almost derails the story in the first few paragraphs, but it picks up slightly. Bland story but nonetheless, good effort for a first attempt.

I had a slow start with this story because of what is, to me, an exaggeration of adjectives and of similes. But when he gets to his stride, Mr. Craig paints a disturbing picture, and thoroughly enjoyable. There is one mistake, easily corrected, that made me come crashing down fast from the heights of my suspension of disbelief: the use of "your" instead of "you're." Ouch! In the end, I am glad I read this story, and I think you should, too.
