O. M. Grey currently lives in Texas with her husband. She holds both a BA and MA in British Literature. Although she doesn’t have a drop of British blood in her veins, she claims that her entire heart is British. As an amateur Anglophile, her dreams of the dark streets of London have finally found their home on the pages of her book.
She prefers to live in the cobwebbed corners of her dark mind writing paranormal romance with a Steampunk twist.
When she’s not writing, she’s reading or tending the garden or drinking a hot cup of tea.
Just two drops, please.

This is the first short story I have read in awhile and definitely the first one since I began this blog. I mainly decided to give it a go for three reasons: 1) my fascination for Steampunk; 2) my love for O.M. Grey’s novel, Avalon Revisited, which I read prior; and 3) the fact that O.M. Grey provided the first half of this short story on her blog and offered to provide coupon codes to purchase the whole story on Smashwords. I liked what I had read so far and I wanted to read the rest so I left her a comment as requested and received a code.
I enjoyed it as a quick steampunkery-romancey read. It was a bit unconventional in an interesting way. It had a dream-like quality throughout and the reader is never really sure whether the protagonist is waking or dreaming and when. I love being tricked!
If you like steampunk, if you like short stories, if you like a bit of thrilling romance, then this is the read for you!
