About Tess Mackenzie

So first, thank you to everyone for all the support. I’m really pleased and flattered and grateful that people are actually interested in reading what I write.

Just, thank you!

So without further ado, hi, I’m Tess and I write smut. And sometimes other things.

But mostly I try to write slightly thinky, realistic, character-driven erotica. That’s what I think I’m doing, anyway. People do kinky stuff, but hopefully in the way real people might, when they’re having an especially good day. Which is to say, I write about people in strong relationships trying new things, like bringing in new sex partners, and sometimes about their relationships getting complicated and ending, too, but usually in ways that mean its for the best. So people change, and develop, and live their lives, and that’s connected to the sex they’re having. And they have a lot of sex.

Some of what I write is about women and men, and some of it is about women and other women, and this should be clear from the blurbs.

So anyways. Here’s the new plan. I’m going to start putting everything I write up for free as soon as it’s done.

Yep, that's right. Everything I ever write. All of it. Free.

I should probably write that as FREE!!!

Then, every so often, I’ll also make anthology collections and put them up for a price. Because then it can be like a weird validation thing, with the getting paid. But without actually stopping anyone from reading.

So that all sounds a bit weird right? Everything’s free except it isn’t? Well, I really like this place, and I also like people reading what I write. So it kind of makes sense, at least to me. And yes, it is kind of part of a devious plan to, um, I don't know, win you over, I guess, and guilt you into one day eventually buying things. But really, really mild guilt, I completely promise. So don’t worry if you ever end up buying anything. Read all the same!

Because, yeah, I want to sell billions of books one day, but I also want people just to read what I write, and I don’t want people to feel pressured to pay, and this all seems like it might work.

So just to be really, completely clear, so no-one is upset when they realize later on. The anthology books collect stories into an actual book, and an ebook is probably easier to read, and if you would like to buy it, I would really appreciate it, and that would be fantastic. But on the other hand, if you’d rather try reading a little first, or would rather not pay at all for whatever reason, then please don’t!

Because the stories in the books are the same stories as are already up for free as stand-alone ones. And the ones that aren’t, those are on my website, and are usually the shorter or less smutty ones.

So if you’re already paid for stuff, please don’t feel like you’re getting tricked here or something, because paying has always been only if you wanted to, and you didn’t have to. This is just trying the same idea on a bigger scale. And if you have paid in the past too, you really don’t need to pay again, there isn’t anything new you can’t get elsewhere.

I mean, except the new stories as they appear, which I’ll keep putting up as free, like I have been for the last month or so anyway.

So basically, there’s no need to pay for anything unless you want to.

So right. We’re all clear on this?

Yay!

And also, um, thank you. Really, just thank you all heaps for reading what I’ve written until now, and wanting to read other things, and just for everything, really.

This was a fun story about two people in a new relationship figuring out their feelings about each other and testing limits that may or not be acceptable to each of them. I liked it

So, this is not a story I would have picked out for me, based on the shopping-list. It's about a lesbian couple, which is fine, though not my thing, and it centers around the kink of anal sex. Which... Well, I've written about it, and it's something intriguing, sure, but it's not my kink of choice. (Don't know what that is, exactly, but you know what I mean.) The thing, is, I love Tess Mackenzie's stories. They're erotic, sure, but they're about the people, and that's why I read "Erin" (and its sequels), and that's why I loved it. The two main characters, Erin and Lauren... Well, yeah. They're both women. (Actually, Lauren is bisexual, not that it matters in this story so much.) And Erin has a thing for anal sex -- particularly analingus. And the story flows out from there.... but honestly? It's about their insecurities, and their love for each other, and the push-me-pull-you that those two things -- combined with their desires -- put them through. Is it sexy? Hell yeah. But mostly, I found myself falling in love a bit with these two slightly neurotic, sweet, very human creatures, and enjoyed the hell out of the short trip they took me on (and the subsequent trips as well).

There was something about this little story that really got to me. It was a combination of the verbal interaction between the two women, which was endearing, and the way the topic of rimming was approached, which was very loving. True, there were more than a few typos, and sometimes the dialog seemed bumpy, but when it was over I found myself thinking that I would like to read about them again, to see what else they share with each other. That is very rare for erotica, and refreshing.

Tess, you’ve begged and begged, so now I’m going to give it to you. I liked your story, maybe even loved it. Ass play can be fantastic and reading about it can be as well. So I’ll give your story four stars. Why not five? Well there were some errors—not many and not so bad as to be distracting.
Also, your listing all, or most, of the other stories as ‘you set the price.’ I don’t like that. If you want paid, say so. Put a price, be bold. Now that I’ve seen a little of your work I might go ahead and buy one. I’m sure that is what you were after, putting this one for free. Sneaky.
Keep up the good work.
