Only the most drastic surgery could save him, and there would be no guarantee of when - or even if - this could proceed. it would take supreme effort to handle both the uncertainty of his situation and the inevitable downward slide in his condition. but eventually he was free to rebuild his life, and he and his family began the task of rising upwards again. Against all the odds he made it further than anybody could have imagined possible. but when the final hurdle in sight, the hand of destiny intervened once more...
