What a fabulous debut novel from Caroline James! I read it in a day, couldn't put it down.
In this heart-warming story, set in an English village in the 1980's, there's everything I'd want from a romantic novel. I loved Caroline's warm humour and her beautifully drawn characters. The friendship between Jo and Hatty is so real, you feel you know them and as for "the enigmatic John Doherty," he's definitely a hero to swoon over! The story is packed with fascinating people, with a plot that twists and turns until the very last page. It will make you laugh out loud and maybe shed a tear , but you'll be captivated from start to finish.
