Parallel Worlds: Nothing is as it seems

1 star1 star1 star1 star1 star
On the surface, the story is about a pair of teenagers, trapped in a parallel world. They must retrieve information from their past lifetimes before they can return to their own world.

Yet underlying the story is a message so powerful, so life-changing and controversial, it has been concealed for thousands of years - because these truths are capable of changing our current world forever.

The crystal-clear descriptiveness in the writing had me hooked from the very beginning. The writing is very compelling, and I could often visualize in detail what was being described. It also evoked a bit of emotion in me at times, which is always good.

There are a few slower points along the way, but it doesn't diminish the quality of the book in any way. I have read about 75% of the book, and I am really looking forward to finishing it. If you are looking to read something that takes place on a rather grand scale, that is also inspirational, this is definitely worth the read.

Heather Noell started out with a tough mission. Write a book that depicts the concepts expressed in an overview book written by Anastasia, a woman who lives in the Russian wilderness in a storyline that is understandable to teenagers. The book has a wonderful storyline about two teenagers (Amelia) and (Matthew) and their adventures on a camping trip in a Utah National Park.

Through the adventures of Amelia and Matthew, be prepared for a read that makes you think about what life would be like if Anastasia's purported capabilities of Teleportation, Bi-location, Telepathy and other metaphysical philosophies actually existed.

If you, like me, do not necessary accept all of the concepts depicted in this book as fact, it at least makes you think ... what if this could really happen ... how would it change our world. Enjoy the book. I did.

Reading 'around' this book I hoped to get a lot more out of it than I did. Not that there aren't some wonderful ideas expressed here - and I certainly applaud those! But it became very evident early on that I am not the target market. If you are not a teenage girl this book will probably not grab you.

This book masquerades as young adult fantasy, and the story itself is solidly entertaining (though it takes frequent, fragmented leaps of genre that are quite confusing). Its true brilliance is the profound philosophical treatise buried within the narrative; the message of Parallel Worlds is simultaneously blasphemous to modern conventions of religion and science, yet it strikes a resonant chord of truth by proclaiming the omnipotent power of Love over all else. It is a simply written—but nonetheless challenging—read that will leave you thinking long after the last page.

This book is full of surprises as Noell brings together a wide range of ideas and characters weaving a story that empowers the readers sense of largeness of themselves and clarifies questions that I believe we all have. I really enjoyed her use of Nikola Tesla and his fantastic inventions as an example of what is possible when we access our connection to spirit. Incorporating Egyptian pyramids, modern advertising and class trips the book sets up the reader to question many assumptions that our modern society provides us. A great read on many levels!

The story is interesting and compelling. The character development is middle of the road, intellectually interesting but not emotionally compelling (empathy was not induced in this reader). The writing is relatively simple (POV usage simple, heavy use of modifiers). Not a great read, but a good read.

I downloaded this book because I thought it was scifi. It's not. It's fantasy that uses some science words. I read the first 6 chapters but I'm not going to read any further because far removed flighty stuff just isn't interesting to me.

If I were to rate it, I'd give it two stars for good prose, but I'm purposely not rating it. I know a lot of people love fantasy, so I don't want to mess up the ratings for them.

Parallel Worlds review:

I alternated between reading the e-book and listening to the audio, depending on my mood. Sometimes I enjoyed reading it and sometimes I succumbed to the pleasure of hearing Heather’s beautiful voice as I lounged around in a reclining chair, eyes closed.

I loved this book! I was amazed at how quickly I was gripped and how much I cared about the characters. I value stories such as this that can be read on more than one level; as a simple adventure or an opportunity to ponder one’s own beliefs and assumptions. For me it held a message of hope and of the transformative power of Love.

Parallel Worlds is beautifully written, thought provoking, occasionally very surprising, always meaningful and deeply moving. I admit to crying on at least 2 occasions!

All in all, I found it a five star Christmas treat of a story!

I have been a huge fan of Heather Macaulay, ever since I've first come across her beautiful audio CD, The Silent Language of Peace. This was more than two years ago. Since then I have shared her audios and website with all my friends, and loved ones. I have been keeping a close eye on her website, and have gained so much peace, love and insight through it.

I am deeply grateful for all that Heather has shared with us, and for all that she has taught us. Her messages that "Everything is OK" and that Love is the most important thing, have meant so much to me. It certainly did give me Peace.

I was privileged to get a sneak-preview of chapter 4 - 7 (I think) of her new book, Parallel worlds, a few months ago, when I saw it on offer on her website. Since then her story have been playing on my mind, and I have been eagerly looking forward to the launch of the whole book.

Oh my, and what a story it is! So beautifully written, and so beautifully read by Heather herself. I loved listening to her audio every night. It is a story I will return to over and over again. As we are approaching a time of Great Awakening, it is my wish that thousands upon thousands will hear this story, and that they will hear and understand the spiritual messages and the universal truths behind this story.

Heather Macauley has written some of my favorite books in recent years. Hers such a unique and important voice. The way she interweaves an engaging fantasy tale with ancient wisdoms makes for magical reading every time. I always get lost in her work and have the strange twin sensations of needed to know how the book ends but not wanting it to end all at the same time. With heathers books I always escape to somewhere I long to be. Parallel Worlds leaves you asking what is real and what is not, both in the book and in the world , and its an important question, but it's more than that the book is an exciting journey into the centre of the world which will literally have your heart beating out of you chest, and there's some beautiful romance in there too which reminds you what love might one day mean. I loved it. uplifting , honest and deeply refreshing ( in the true sense of the word) .

"Parallel Worlds" is the masterful sequel to Heather's first book, "Children of Light," which can be savored as is or after partaking in the delightful first course of this powerful metaphysical feast!

Written as fiction, it is presented in the enjoyable form of storytelling that draws the reader in quickly and envelopes them with information and states-of-being nearly everyone can identify with and relish. Hard to describe, but the book "feels" like it is written specifically for the person reading it, like a secret message from one's soul to one's mind and heart!

There are layers upon layers here of important information to assist us all in making the upcoming shift to a higher frequency of existence, written under the guise of a very enjoyable adventure novel. This book deserves several immersions by the reader. Every visit uncovers more information that seems to be directly written for the individual open enough to embark upon such a discovery path!

Not since "The Celestine Prophesy" has a book turned on so many internal switches in my BE-ing! I give it my highest recommendation!

It takes a writer of unparalleled spiritual insight and wordsmith talent to weave a story that appeals to both the young and the old on all levels. This is storytelling in it's highest form, a talent for which the bards of old were both worshipped and adored. They related tales that taught us wisdom, illuminated the human condition and steered us onto a path of inner discovery. Heather Macauley Noell has succeeded in following thru in that tradition of storytale enchantment while teaching us at the same time. Read or listen to her book and allow yourself to get carried away on a journey of discovery that is at once satisfying and meaningful to both your spirit and to your soul. Thank you, Heather.

A mystical sci-fi teen romance with fantastic modern ideas coming from quantum physics using the various possibilities that String Theory and M Theory offer us, but in no way going beyond comprehension, it also has natural earth elements (i.e. there is a civilization in the book which lives in peace and harmony with fellow men and nature and how they do this has relevance for today’s times) I can’t recommend it highly enough. It will open great avenues for discussion if parents read it too. Also it has helpful revelations of the ways boys and girls think which could assist teens negotiating the pitfalls and snubs and perceived slights which occur in relationships.

Heather has created an amazing tale that kept my attention throughout the entire story. Not since the Celestine Prophecy has a fictional tale been written with such insight and ease in understanding. The brilliantly written adventure opens the listener to the awareness that there is more to our lives and the world than we were taught as children. She takes her characters in and out of 3D reality to expand their perspectives of their current lives and the individuals that they closely interact with. Thank you Heather for your masterful work.
