I loved this book. I loved Amulet, and then got Amulet 2 as a gift and loved it too. I would highly recommend reading Amulet first so that you understand all references to past events. The author does such an excellent job of telling a complicated story in a way that is easy to read and understand and hard to put down. His characters feel like real people. I really enjoyed this book. It's a satisfying romance, a mystery, and a fantasy all rolled into one. This author has a great imagination. Hope there's an Amulet 3.

S. Wolf has crafted a whiplash of storytelling, as he takes Jason through a great personal loss and as assortment of possible outcomes. One thing is certain, you won't be bored. Can't wait to se what he does with Amulet 3.

Jason's back in this sequel to Amulet, though the Amulet belongs to someone else now. Interestingly to me, I found the plot more cohesive in this sequel and, at the same time, the sex not nearly as hot. There were fewer mistakes in this story (though still a few), but they really didn't take me out of the story too much.

We're five or so years down the road, and Jason and his pack have created a circle of friends bound by love and true friendship, and they're all pretty happy. Sam is pregnant and fairly soon into the book, goes into the hospital to have the baby, but something happens. Because he's special to Malchediel and Ambriel, he is offered the opportunity to "fix" things. In something vaguely akin to Ebenezer Scrooge's visits from various Ghosts of Christmas, Jason tries to figure out if he should fix things; how different would his life be if one little tiny thing were changed? Two? If he changed nothing?

Jason's journey through his own life (past, present and future) in his quest for that answer is touching, and eventually he makes the right decision for himself and his new family, and it's a choice that both makes sense to the character and isn't too farfetched to be realistic.

Then, the epilogue sets things up for another sequel, and the circumstances of that setup strain my credulity a bit too far. There may be more to this story, but I think I'll stop here and be satisfied with this ending.

Much thanks to S. Wolf for the opportunity to read the sequel.

I am really bad at reviews so forgive me.
I loved Amulet 2. I would give it 10 stars if I could. I think I loved it more that Amulet. if that was possible. S Wolf is a wonderful writer and the plot was very unique and kept me on the edge of my seat. Awesome book, awesome writer. Can't wait for the next one.

Excellent Book as expected.

Personally, I'd enjoyed the first book better as the protagonist in it was closer to my age and it was interesting to see what he would do with such power. That said, it was intriguing to see a more mature mind take control and attempt to piece his family back together in such a unique manner.

Well worth it.

Review by: Ernest Winchester on Oct. 19, 2011 :
In the author's note at the beginning of this book, he suggests that the reader read 'Amulet' due to the continuing nature of the story line. Having read 'Amulet' over a year ago, I can add a strong second to that idea. After a year I had forgotten many of the story lines and plots and know that it would have helped had I not waited so long before reading 'Amulet 2'. The reader must keep an open mind and a good recall to get through this delightfully intriguing book.
