A well written imaginative world, fascinating and touching characters, a gripping plot, delicious erotic scenes and wonderful tension-building… but in the end the story didn’t get to me.

I was disappointed by the length spent on the plot, political machinations and intrigues, when I was waiting for the building of a romance between the two main characters.

I was so attached to Zhanil and Kamelki that I found the end of the book not satisfactory so I read the following book, hoping to find the happily-ever-after I was looking for and was further disappointed.

The building of the plot and the imaginative world is truly impressive but I found the characters relationship not deepened enough. The characters are so touching that I would have granted them a different ending with a life together and the recognition of their unique bond. I would not have read the whole story knowing that they would end up as secret lovers each married to their own wife...

Still a well written story of an imaginative world
