About Marie Hall

Marie Hall has always held a dangerous fascination for creatures that go bump in the night. And mermaids. And of course fairies. Trolls. Unicorns. Shapeshifters. Vampires. Scottish brogues. Kilts. Beefy arms. Ummm... Bad boys! Especially the sexy ones.

Then the day came she realized apart from the sexy bad boy she married, there'd be no vampires/shapeshifters/mermaids/fairies/or even stinky trolls in her future unless she wrote about them. More often than not she can be found roaming the wild, lush tropical forest she calls her backyard (a.k.a. Hawaii) and day dreaming constantly about her latest project.

Her Mad Hatter is the first book of her Kingdom Series.

I’ve loved this series from the first book and this one is no exception. Marie made one Frickin’ HOT Hook. I really like the direction she took this familiar fairy tale. It’s no longer familiar, but it sure is better. The story comes alive with the descriptions of the various realms. I could close my eyes and they came alive. I’m pretty sure I’ll never be able to watch Peter Pan the same way again. I’ll definitely be substituting their Hook with the Hook from this book.

James (Hook) has been just existing for the past century. He lost his love in one of the worst ways possible. He drinks too much and is becoming more like the stories portray him all the time. James is about at the end of his rope when fate, otherwise known as Danika, literally drops Trisha at his feet.

Trisha has also known pain and loss, especially in this life. She isn’t even sure she’s capable of love. From the moment she lands at Hooks feet she lets him know that he may be the captain of the ship, but definitely not of her. Trisha’s journey from disbelief to lust and finally to love was very fun and touching to witness.

The interactions between James and Trisha were funny and emotional. The best part is finding out that Marie Hall isn’t finished with the world of Kingdom. YAY! There will be more stories from this wonderful place.

'Lie to yourself all you want, but the end is already written, it's just a matter of getting there.'

Oh Hook, one moment while I swoon...

One of the reasons why I like Marie Hall so much, is because her stories are quick and enjoyable escapism. She whisk's you along entangling you in the magical world she has created (or expanded upon) leaving you with the inevitable HEA.
I love her shake up of characters, and the twists she throws in. Nothing is quite as we thought it. =P

I absolutely adore Danika, she's such a hoot. She is exactly what I would expect my fairy godmother to be. Full of sass.
'Surely Charming never gave his godmother such a hellashish time. Then again Charming was as dull as dirty dishwater, there was that.'
That line just tickled me.

While I loved Trishelle's story and character, the thing that took from her (for me) was some of her dialogue. I found valley-girl coming through my receptors at points, which didn't mix with my whiskey coated English accent my brain decided Hook was going to have.
;P

I'm looking forward to reading about more bad boys (and girls) and am SO glad this isn't the last of Kingdom!

I received this book from the author for an honest review. (LoP) =)

Favorite Line “What would Neverland be if Hook didn’t give that boy hell?”

I do love the bad boys of The Kingdom series and Hook's story does not disappoint! The description of all the different scenes were amazing. I could close my eyes and see the world under the sea and in the air.
Hook was a fabulous bad boy and oh my that hook was SO FREAKING HOT! Trishelle was such a fiery character! Her and Hook are so so perfect for each other. As will all the Kingdom couple this couple was spectacular! I really loved how Pan was the spoiled little rat I always thought him to be and how Tink was not the cute little thing but, really was just a vicious fairy!
All in all just an amazing story!!

I was given this book by author for an honest review. (LoP)

Amazing read. I love the characters. Captain James Hook always has a good heart but he's portrait as evil heartless man. I can't wait to see what comes next. Overall a great book I'm giving it 5 stars.

I thank the author and Lovers Of Paranormal group for this free copy. I'm glad I had the chance to read and review this beautiful book.

Although I just found out it was the last of 5 books in the Kingdom series, it can be read as a stand alone easily. I did and enjoyed it a lot. And I'm probably going to look up at the previous 4 books because a fairytale is sweet and cute, but a fairy tale with a sensual twist like this book, is very hot! I'm going to check Marie Hall's other books, because I like her style of writing. I'm especially curious about Red and her Wolf.
Trishelle was a good character and I liked her, even though she was a little too cynical at times. But other than that and the sadness in the beginning, I liked her. No wonder Hook fell for her so quickly.
Oh yes, Hook. There are no words to describe him, really. He was amazing. Such an awesome chracter. And Trisha and him were fantastic together! Fun and sexy! There were fireworks everytime they were in the same room. Very hot! So hot that I needed to fan myself while reading some steamy scenes. Wow! I want a Captain Hook too! Please?
I liked the mermaid, especially the tweens - King and Queen.
Peter Pan was an hateful, stupid, spoiled brat. And gave me the creeps. He and his Lost Boys friends.
The story was good, fast paced and new (well, new to me at least), it was cute, sweet and fun and I liked it. Although I didn't like much that Pan went unpunished.
Very recommended book!

WOW!!!!!!!!
This is such a wonderful Story and I just fell in love with Hook all over again.
The storyline is just wonderful, and I was glad that the Author has the ability to pull me into her Magic world.
It was funny and had a lot of wit, yet also sad moments.
I do like the twist that Peter Pan is not the cute boy. More like a spoiled little brat that needs a firm hand.
I do wish the book would have been a bit longer and maybe go into them having little baby pirates, but honestly the ending was just as good as it was.
I have not read the other books in this series but I will now. Bought already the first one.
GREAT BOOK!!!!

I received this book as a R2R from the Lovers of Paranormal Group on GoodReads.com

Stars: 5++

Overall: I always knew that Captain James Hook had a big heart underneath it all. I LOVED this story beyond what words could describe. It was fun, exciting and it really made me look at fairy tales in a different way. My favorite scene from the book is when they travel the underwater kingdom. The description was beyond beautiful and it made me wish that Danika had a bad boy out there for me somewhere. I also really liked that the end when Trisha found out what really happened to Talia and all the feelings came flooding back. All i have to say is Bad Boys need love too.

Characters: James Hook & Trishelle ( Talia )

Page Turner: I never put the book down it was so good!

Series Cont: I hope so!!

Recommend: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!
