Review by: Heidi Brophy on June 15, 2013 :
This book is an intense blend of cyberpunk, alternate world history and noir. The two main antagonists, Deckard and Kitka, are compelling characters that follow a complex trail of clues to get to the bottom of a tale of espionage and murder. They are called Ultra Team One by the secret government agency that created them by blending their genes to make one Man and one Animal, the ultimate secret agent team. Their past is revealed as they fight psycho mobsters, insane armies, and deadly assassins. They live in a world where corporations and hackers declare and wage wars just below the public eye. The two deal out destruction on a subtle basis and move like ghosts through world that parallels our own. As Ultra Team follows the trail of blood, it leads them through the United States that has been broken into new countries and freeholds. If you are a fan of science fiction and cyberpunk in general, read this book. It's a fun read and you will get wrapped up in the characters quickly. The ending will Floor you. I hope we will see Deckard and Kitka again.
