How the LEFT renders the RIGHT impotent in today's dumbed down society. By its very nature Government is composed of people that firmly reside on the Left. The Right Can't Win explores the various reasons for this with the most obvious reason almost never being discussed; People that want to simply be left alone (and not be the champion of do-gooder causes) don't covet elected office. The Left is a world of do-gooders and no matter what the cause, from global warming to saving the salamanders, they have one thing in common. They need a massive, kick-ass, centralized government to accomplish their do-gooder goals. Those on the Right generally want to be left alone and embrace personal responsibility so they don't need a massive Federal government for almost anything save the basics: military, roads, basic safety nets, etc. People that want to be left alone do not move heaven and earth to put themselves into the midst of big government thus as a government grows, the Left grows in proportion to the Right. Finally, the book explores the ONE thing the Right can rally around, if not to win, to at least have a chance in the political world of tomorrow.
