Mark Worrall is a British author, publisher, filmmaker and businessman born in London in 1961 who is mainly associated with football literature, and more specifically Chelsea Football Club.
As a writer, Worrall is the author of two novels and four collections of non-fiction. He has also co-authored several works, most notably Chelsea here Chelsea there. His fictional style, best exemplified in his debut novel, Blue Murder, is known for being exhilarating, compelling, and sinister, and is predominantly set within London. His non-fiction, of which Over Land Land and Sea, first published in 2004, has proved enduringly popular, is focussed on the supporters of Chelsea FC, and typically embraces themes of travel, illegal drugs, sociology and escapism.
As a publisher,and founder of Gate 17, Worrall has brought titles by popular Chelsea authors Walter Otton, David Johnstone and Kelvin Barker to a global audience with further publications planned for 2013.
Mark's regular column for seminal soccer fanzine cfcuk concerns itself with the psychology of football from a fans perspective and has brought him to prominence as a thinker and activist who promotes the welfare of fellow supporters.
