About Julie Peavey Alexander

Julie Peavey Alexander was born and raised in the state of Kansas. For nearly twenty years, she worked first as a legal secretary and later as an assistant to trial attorneys before finally beginning her writing career. With a compassion for the past and for people who lived a life full of hardships, she chose for her first book to write about the history and people who lived among the land in Oklahoma on which her father was raised. Using the research and writing skills she gained from working in law firms, she was able to piece together a story that had occurred over 100 years ago yet had rarely been told.
