Louis Volschenk was born in Cape Town, South Africa in 1975, where he also spent most of his childhood. He grew up during the tumultuous 1980's and early 90s, a time of immense transformation and tension within South Africa. While initially willing to give the African National Congress the benefit of the doubt, he's over the years grown increasingly dismayed at their inability to govern.
Louis completed an engineering degree before deciding he's rather dabble in media, completing a course in communications and media production. Three years later, with little to show for his efforts to become a movie producer, he settled into an engineering job, where he would spend the next ten years, completing an MBA along the way.
In late 2012, Louis resolved to actually set out doing what he had long ago promised himself he would - write a decent book. He'd since 2008 grown particularly interested in the economic crisis and it's origins.
Louis lives in Cape Town with his wife and three children. In addition to writing, he's currently pursuing other interests in media (children's CDs and DVDs) and agriculture.
