The Forgotten Game is a short, simple book that invites the reader to remember that their life is only a virtual reality game. It contains clear instructions on how to play this game, turning struggle and unhappiness into playfulness and enjoyment. More
Life is just a virtual reality game. We forgot that as we grew up and were told it was something to be serious about. We began to believe that we needed to achieve certain things before we could feel satisfied and fulfilled, instead of just enjoying the amazing experience inside this virtual world. Life began to seem like a lot of hard work, instead of the easy, fun game that it is.
We not only forgot that life is a game, but we also forgot how to play it. We forgot that by paying attention to our emotions, we could control the whole game and create the reality we wanted. The better we feel, the better our reality and the better the game. This book invites you to play the game in the way that works best for me. Nothing I write will be a new revelation; it has all been expressed before in some manner. There are many teachers today sharing a similar message, and many of the great teachers of the last couple of thousand years have taught the same sort of thing. Even so, I felt compelled to write it, for the fun of it, and to share the simple step (just one!) that helps you play the game and create your virtual world.
The books explains how to play and also answers all those questions that the mind comes up with to try and argue that life is not a game, or that it is not possible to always enjoy it. It also celebrates the benefits of remembering how to enjoy the game and gives some ideas for the areas of our lives that might seem trickier to enjoy.
