Of Irish ancestry, raised in New York. Educated in Boston and worked for Little, Brown and Company before taking time off to study for a masters' degree in Anglo-Irish Literature at University College, Dublin. Met Niall Williams in UCD where he was studying for an MA in American Literature. Married in New York and worked as a freelance copyeditor, gardener, and also as a copyeditor at the American Journal of Medicine. After the couple’s move to Clare and years of farming, she founded along with five other craft workers a co-operative, artist-run gift shop called Clare Craft and Design in Ennis from where she sold her paintings, and pen and ink sketches, which at the time of the Kiltumper books were in great demand. But in 1994, Christine decided to undertake the study of homeopathy and qualified four years later becoming a registered member of the Irish Society of Homeopaths.
So Many Miles to Paradise was published in Ireland by Townhouse Books. But is now sadly out of stock. Her son Joseph is helping her turn it into a eBook, soon to be available for Kindle. She has written three children’s stories which are presently with an agent in London and has collaborated on two more children’s stories with Niall. She has written dozens of columns for on health and gardening and travel.
For the year 2011 she was been part of the National Academy of Writing in London and her novel, HER NAME IS ROSE is with a London agent. Visit her character Iris Bowen at her blogspot.
A registered member of the Irish Society of Homeopaths, Christine has been a practicing Homeopath for over fifteen years. For three years she was the co editor of the Homeopathy page at All Things Healing.com
A keen gardener for over thirty years, Christine also does occasional garden design, most recently for the Old Ground Hotel in Ennis, and offers gardening advice and garden coaching.
