Review by: Andrew Grzeskowiak on July 08, 2013 :
This amazing book has achieved something I have not seen before: a unique heroine in the male-heavy world of mystery and detective fiction. Margaret Morehouse is smarter than Miss Jane Marple, tougher than V. I. Warshawski, and more resourceful than Cordelia Gray (for all you P. D. James fans out there). Ms. Tracy vividly recreates early 20th-century Los Angeles with in-depth research and powerful storytelling, and the resultant twists and turns portray revolutionary technological and social changes whose origins most modern audiences wrongly take for granted. All I can say is, I anxiously await more Margaret Morehouse.
