The Karma of Mao: The Incompatibility of Socialism and Marxism with Buddhist Principles

The Karma of Mao is a devastating critique of socialism and Marxism through the eyes of a longtime Buddhist, and award-winning author. About Susanna Godoy Lohse

Susanna Godoy Lohse is the daughter of an American schoolteacher and a Latin American businessman who was born in Lima, Peru. Her parents met on a finca near Havana, Cuba, where her father was playing polo, and her mother was an expert horse jumper. Her mother had moved to Cuba during the Great Depression from Oklahoma to take a position as a governess for a British family.

Born in Oklahoma, Susanna spent her early childhood in pre-Castro Havana and a Victorian home in a Colorado mining town not far from the Continental Divide. She speaks fluent Spanish, as Spanish was her first language.

After her father's business, the Godoy Sayan Bank and Insurance Company in Havana was confiscated at gunpoint during the communist revolution, Colorado became her family's permanent home. Before finalizing "The Peerless Dulcinea" she adapted it into a screenplay (unproduced) and won a Gold Award at the Worldfest International Film Festival, where film makers like the Coen Brothers, Ang Lee, Robert Rodriguez, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg won their first awards.

The Peerless Dulcinea is loosely based on her remembrances of her early childhood in Havana and Colorado.
