About Severin Rossetti

Severin Rossetti was a teacher of fine art, but now works in a Liverpool museum/gallery, less money but a lot less stress. At the same time that he turned from teaching fine art, he also turned from its practice -have you seen the crap that passes for fine art these days?!?- to concentrate on writing. After many rejection slips he finally had some encouragement. 'Interesting,' said one editor, 'but it lacks passion. Spice it up a bit.' Which he did, only to be told 'wow!'... 'well!'... 'spiced up, yes, but we can't possibly publish this!' Fortunately, others could, with the result that his erotic stories have been published in the UK and the USA in various magazines and anthologies. Novels and short story collections have also been published in the US by Renaissance Ebooks.com. If the erotic genre is not your thing, however, please note that also available on Smashwords are more 'serious' works, some for sale but many for free. Strange, though, that the erotic genre is proving the most popular, and especially the free ones. So... a cry from the heart... feel free to try the free ones but PLEASE, also, splash out a dollar or two if you can afford it! And if you want to know any more, please contact the author at severinrossetti@aol.com

Review by: David Blake on April 26, 2013 :
A superior example of its genre. Rather than just consist of detailed descriptions of reproductive body parts for the sake of a quick bit of titillation, this well-written piece delves deeper into the psyche of the two protagonists, exploring a convincing attraction and building it up with sufficient expectation rather than launching straight into 'the action'. There were some nice puns along the way, too, and the musical aspect of the story is superbly intertwined with the sexual side.

I believe this story serves as a good representation of one might expect from this author. What was unexpected, was the (male) author's ability to write in the female POV. A few hiccups at the beginning (formatting) but then, the story progressed rather wonderfully. I really felt drawn to the main character from a personal and psychological aspect. I do not normally read BDSM but this was different in that there was some character development. I could sense how "Fiddle" could come through such abuse believing that, in her own way, loved the maestro.

I should have paid closer attention to the tags of this story. If I had done so, I wouldn’t have down loaded it. The first paragraph was all I needed. I am so sick of stories where pain and submission are equated with love. I will not rate it because I don’t think my bias should come into play.
