The Quick and the Unholy

Rated 4.60/5 based on 5 reviews
When a group of wranglers lose their herd during a freak thunderstorm, little do they know they're about to walk the boundary between Hell and Earth. With walking dead, angry gods, mysterious pasts, and a few demonic entitites for good measure, its the best of the Old West mixed with a Lovecraftian influence.

About J.R. Leckman

I live in Colorado with a beautiful wife and lots of pets. I currently go to school for physics, but writing is my number 1 passion.

Growing up, I used to think of books as windows that allowed me to peek into other worlds. In kindergarten, I cut my teeth on the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew. Terry Brooks was waiting for me in 4th grade, and I have travelled many places since. I hope you enjoy the trip to the worlds of my creation, and am always excited to hear about your journey there.

I love paranormal/horror westerns, so I snapped this one right up, and I really liked it. I noticed a few very minor errors ("spit" instead of "spat"), which didn't detract from my enjoyment of the story. My only real quibble is with its length: I think this story has enough plot and action for a novella.

As always, you build your characters and tell a good story. I also appreciate that you do not explain. This one is not your best (of the ones posted here) but it is very good.

Wow! That was a very intertaining read. Just didn't last long enough. I am partial to Native American spiritual and paranormal content. Looking forward to more.
